Kinect for Blind People Navigation

A group of students from the University of Konstanz, Germany, utilizing Kinect not just for playing games as usual, but the Xbox controller is modified so that it can also diganakan as visual aids for the physically blind.

How, the student will take advantage of infrared technology in Kinect camera to capture images. Then the data is successfully recorded was processed through a laptop and translated into audio instruction, and then distributed via bluetooth headset.

The result, based on experiments conducted, Kinect able to recognize some environmental conditions. For example, winding road, or a stalemate. Not only that, this tool is also able to measure the distance between the user with the object in front.

Thereby promised to help the blind navigate. And this discovery was called Navigational Aids for the Visually Impaired (NAVI).

Kinect for PS3

Microsoft Kinect originally designed as a controller for the Xbox 360, but a hacker managed to modify the control system so that it can be used in the PlayStation 3 (PS3).

Hacker was named Shantanu Goel. This guy managed to create an application that allows Kinect can communicate with the PS3. Although still in pre-alpha status, but the application is already showing success.

In YouTube, Goel is not just showing off how to navigate Xross Media Bar via Kinect, but he also tried to play Killzone 3 uses the controller.

Goel recognize modifications which he did not work perfectly. Still needs some changes for the Kinect sensors can identify the movement well.

So he opened his complete application soucecode with instructions for installation to be developed jointly.

3D Games, Good for Eyes

Nintendo was buffeted by rumors that Nintendo 3DS can cause stunted growth in children's eyes. Because, 3DS has a 3D image that caused the focus of attention left and right eyes are different, and this is considered less good for the growth of the child's eyes.

Now, an organization in American Optometric Association says that 3DS actually good for the eyes of children over the age of seven years. Good in the sense can be an eye health check of children. But still be a problem when 3DS played children under seven years with a frequency that is too often.

Organization called the American Optometric Association says that children who can not see the 3D effect of the Nintendo console may actually exposed to amblyopia - a type of eye disease called 'lazy eye'.

"3DS can actually be a means of identification if a child under six years of suffering from eye disorders and need treatment," said Michael Duenas of these institutions.

Duenas explained that 15 percent of children under the age of six years of sometimes does have eye disorders.

"Children who feel lazy and dizzy after playing 3DS should be checked," he explained

Playing Music Game with a Real Guitar

Game companies from France, Ubisoft, immediately released a music game titled 'Rocksmith'. The game is played with a motion controller in the form of a real electric guitar!

Rocksmith will be musical entertainment for maniac music game after the 'departure' Guitar Hero. By including the electric guitar became a part of this game, Ubisoft looks very ambitious and want to provide support for the genre of game that is almost dead.

Angry Birds: Game with the Biggest Revenue

Early Angry Birds development was only costs around USD 140 thousand, but now the game has made a profit of about USD 70 million. Wonder if observers dub Angry Birds as one of the most profitable game in history.

Angry Birds first developed by Rovio to IOS in December 2009. But since it was released for the version of Android and other platforms, this game became such a phenomenon because of its uniqueness.
