There was a document circulated to mention that, the new model PlayStation 3 will not support the resolution of High Definition (HD) via component cables, but this feature has existed since the console's release. Really?
The document alleged the manuals for the sellers PS3 CECH-3000 series was mentioned that, this system will be bundled with a set of AV cables, while HD users to enjoy the impressions required to use an HDMI cable.
That certainly is horrendous, and raises some questions. But in the end Sony was trying to clarify.
"Series-3000 CECH need HDMI to watch Blu-ray films according to the AACS standard. As for playing games and streming video in HD resolution can still use the component cables," explained Sony, quoted detikINET from arstechica, Thursday (14 / 7 / 2011).
Advanced Access Content System (AACS) is one of the standard in Digital rights management (DRM) for high-resolution video that has been limited by the HDMI and DVI only supports High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP).
Well, it seems Sony wants to add new standards in terms of protection film based Blu-ray. Plus began in 2014, all Blu-ray player will use these standards.
